The Olympic lifts (snatch and clean & jerk) are some of the most effective training exercises for developing a variety of physical skills including strength, power, mobility and overall coordination. Although effective, they are much more technical to teach than other strength training exercises and are often taught incorrectly or simply left out of the overall training program for this very reason.

If you are a coach who would like to learn how to teach the weightlifting movements safely and effectively to your athletes, Coach CJ Del Balso will be offering a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coaching Course at Beckman High School in Irvine, CA on July 23rd and 24th. This course is designed to instruct coaches on how to correctly teach and implement the weightlifting movements with any athletic population. Additionally, this course will review basic program design principles useful for maximizing athletic development.

Coach Del Balso is an international level coach with USA Weightlifting and brings 15 years of experience in strength and conditioning at the high school level in addition to 13 years of football coaching experience. Coach Del Balso also coaches youth athletes in the sport of weightlifting and has developed lifters who have competed at both the national and international levels. Currently, Coach Del Balso serves as a physical education teacher and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Beckman High School.
