To Whom It May Concern:
Re: Pete Smolin Football Resignation

THANK YOU, CITRUS VALLEY FOOTBALL FAMILY!

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my departure immediately as Head Football Coach at Citrus Valley High School. For nine seasons, I have had the privilege and the honor of working with the best people around. I have met and spent time with some of the finest young men and women. In my football experience here, I have watched them develop and grow into tremendous football players and even better adults. No coach could be luckier than I am to have such supportive parents and Boosters who brave the terrible weather and long drives to unknown places to cheer on the Blackhawks. We have received fantastic support from the faculty and administration. I couldn’t have a better than this administration who is truly dedicated to the student-athlete and has helped put athletics on the map at Citrus Valley High School. I am always going to be in debt to our administration and staff for championing of our program.

For my coaching staff, there are no words to describe how much I have enjoyed working with you. You are more than colleagues to me, but my best friends. Any success we have achieved over the past years is clearly due to those fine men who give their hearts and souls to the young men of Citrus Valley football.

I have put everything I have into this program and it has grown from literally nothing and developed into something special. I have no doubt that will continue in the future and I am certain that the players and coaches will take Blackhawk football to new heights. I have been blessed with great people who were willing to sacrifice to help the program. I thank everyone for their support of the program and I look forward to keeping an eye on the sports page, to see how the football program is doing. I head into a new transition in my career after over 25 seasons of coaching football, knowing that Citrus Valley football is going to get better and better each year because that is what is important to the people involved in it. God bless you all and GO BLACKHAWKS!

Sincerely,
Pete Smolin
