A very simple way to go on record with the state by submitting a letter to lawmakers.
Here are the directions to go on record with a letter to the California State Assembly before their vote to ban youth tackle football via Assembly Bill 734. The date is not yet known, but it will happen in January.
STEP 1
Copy this document to your own computer or google drive by clicking here.
- Change the yellow highlighted parts, which are about you!
- You are more than welcome to edit this document if you would like, it is YOUR letter, I just wanted to make it very easy for you.
- IT MUST HAVE A REAL SIGNATURE ON THE LETTER!!
STEP 2
- Enter the California Legislature Position Portal here.
- Follow simple directions to create an account.
- On the Activity screen, click SUBMIT LETTER.
- On the Select A Bill screen, enter 734, this comes up, then click NEXT.

- On the Submit Letter As screen, click either YOURSELF or OTHER ORGANIZATION if you are submitting for an organization or on behalf of your football program.
- On the Committee screen, there is only one to select: Arts, Entertainment, Sports and Tourism, select that
- On the Upload File For Submission screen:
- Click OPPOSE
- In the subject line, write Undeniable Opposition to Assembly Bill 734
- Attach your file
